27 Dec 2024
Dear Friends,
As 2024 draws to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones we’ve achieved together. Your trust and support have made this year one of growth and significant success for our team!
This year has been transformative for us. As we continue to evolve to meet the growing needs of our customers, we’ve expanded beyond traditional IX services. To support our enhanced distributed Internet Exchange model, we’ve expanded our DWDM network. This new infrastructure integrates a resilient mesh architecture, offering unparalleled reliability, scalability, and security for traffic exchange across Eurasia and beyond.
Introducing GNM and GNM-IX
In this spirit of renewal and growth, we are excited to introduce GNM — our new identity as a Backbone Internet Service Provider. GNM represents our commitment to international connectivity, exceptional performance, and bridging communication across continents. Along with this, we proudly unveil GNM-IX, our globally distributed Internet Exchange Network, offering secure, redundant, and seamless peering for businesses worldwide.
This change goes beyond just a fresh look — it reflects our ongoing mission to push boundaries, deliver value, and redefine the standards of global connectivity. Rest assured, as GNM, we remain steadfast in providing the high-quality services you trust and rely on.
2024 Highlights
This year, GNM-IX achieved a major milestone with over 600 ASNs connected across 80 locations. Peak traffic reached an impressive 8.7 Tbps, setting a new record for the network.
A major highlight was the launch of our large-scale DWDM ring infrastructure in Central Europe. With new connection points established via backbone routes Frankfurt-Berlin-Warsaw-Katowice-Prague and Frankfurt-Stuttgart-Munich-Vienna-Bratislava-Prague, these fully integrated DWDM rings now provide complete service resilience and significantly lower latency. As part of this expansion, GNM also launched 10 new PoPs in European data centers.
Furthermore, we’re proud to announce the completion of a 1,200-kilometer DWDM fiber link between Stockholm and Berlin, reducing latency to just 12 milliseconds — a true testament to our commitment to rapid deployment and flexibility in meeting customer demands.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Heading to 2025, we’re excited to continue building on these achievements, forging stronger connections, and delivering innovative solutions that support your growth. We look forward to many more shared successes in the year ahead.
From all of us at GNM, we wish you a Happy New Year filled with continued prosperity, new opportunities, and mutual success.
Thank you for being a vital part of the GNM family.
Warm regards,
The GNM Team
